About
Educated as an Architect at the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London (UK). Worked for over a decade in private Architectural practice. Including working as a design engineer in an environmental design consultancy and on two UK Government funded research projects. Gained experience and understanding of the design process in a commercial context through involvement in projects from initial design conception to handing the client the keys. Professionally committed to the delivery of the highest standard of built environment for occupants present and future that opportunity, resources, technology and commercial conditions can support. Currently working on research and development of innovative technology to provide low-operating energy technology for building environmental control. Specialties: Solid-modelling , design integration and design for fabrication, design for testing, instrumentation design for monitoring during observation studies, computer modelling, software simulation, firmware programming, thermography acquisition and analysis.

Experience

design engineer
max fordham and partners
Assistant to a senior design engineer. Gained experience of environmental design principles and the development of holistic design strategies that integrate services and architectural design. Experience on-site with detailed construction and services coordination issues between electrical, public health, lighting and mechanical services.

visiting lecturer
university of westminster
Specialist tutoring in sustainability and the environmental design of buildings and technical systems.

research engineer
haque design + research
Computer draughting of proposals for architectural competitions. Briefing work and literature review to support the development of an XML schema for the 'extended environmental mark-up' or 'eeml' language. Initially used by the Pachube start-up company as a protocol for sharing environmental data in the 'internet-of-things' (IoT). System design, firmware programming and prototype development of the 'Pachubox' technology demonstrator. An 'Pachube-ready' platform for autonomous data collection and sharing. Tools: Arizona Microchip Technologies MPLab (for firmware development), EasyPCB and Eagle (for PCB design and production), Oxygen XML (for schema development and validation).

Architectural design tutor in Research Cluster 3 on the Bartlett's MArch programme. Specialist technical tutoring of passive environmental design principles and technology.

architect and research engineer
university college london
Conduct applied research in the field of architecture. Specifically, to investigate the use of passive thermo-hydraulics in novel mechanisms that enable buildings to dynamically adapt to seasonal changes in weather conditions. Tools: AutoDesk Inventor (for 3D solid-modelling), MatLab (for numerical analysis, image processing), MicroSoft office (for general computing), Gimp (for image manipulation), Photomodeler Pro (4-dimensional photogrammetric analysis). Completing doctoral research project into the use of low-energy technologies for architectural applications. The research will contribute to the goal of zero-carbon buildings with very low operating costs. Tools: AutoDesk AutoCAD (for 2D draughting), LaTeX (for document preparation)
