Christopher Guthrie

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is an elected position composed of students from various residential spaces who encourage stimulating living learning environments through promoting cultural, academic, and social activities for residents within their residential community. RHA also strives to improve the residential experience of students within university-owned housing.

Investigating the density of grey squirrel populations as they pertain to tree species in an abandoned Greencastle limestone quarry. Cataloguing tree species in transects and measuring their trunk circumference. Seeking to understand areas that are frequented by grey squirrels to better understand how they make use of the environment. Utilizing GIS to catalogue positions of interest such as transect start, middle and endpoints.

Responsible for planning and organizing on campus events for the Posse Scholar Leadership Council, a new student organization focused on increasing outreach for Posse Scholars.

Representing the dietary needs of DePauw University's Ubben Quad (non-Greek life upperclassman housing).

Promote the WGRE Broadcasting Agency by overseeing the development of advertisement campaigns and promotional materials. DJ of the week recipient.

Guided guests through an interactive experience by providing clear guidance and responsive assistance. Ensured smooth transactions by managing the register and selling experiences within the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Investigated how heavy metals affect local bacterial strains. Cultured environmental bacteria using aseptic techniques. Performed Gram staining, serial dilutions, colony PCR, and DNA quantification using a NanoDrop to identify genetic changes. Recorded and analyzed findings and data using Excel and documented all lab procedures in Word. This project resulted in the identification of many bacterial strains that are resistant to heavy metal contaminants in the greater Greencastle area.

As part of the publication team, collaborated with editors to meet paper deadlines and maintain publication standards. Voluntarily pitched and wrote articles on school events. Balanced writing with design responsibilities while ensuring that each issue met visual and editorial goals.

Engaged in new archaeological excavation efforts and photogrammetric documentation of Roman and Etruscan cultural remains. Supported cultural heritage research in the town of Castiglione del Lago. Applied stratigraphic excavation techniques to uncover artefacts that contributed to the analysis of ancient settlement patterns. Using photogrammetry and Geographic Imaging Systems like ArcGIS, created accurate site maps and digital records. New findings were used in the creation of a new exhibit in the Palazzo della Corgna museum.
