Nedcor contracted Suricat Investigations to handle most of their operational security responsibilities at various branches and administrative buildings. I have been involved in several projects where I had the responsibility of Crime Scene Management for the Nedcor group. One of my main duties was to audit subcontracted security personnel’s compliance with the standard operating procedures and equipment. This was followed by a general corrective discussion with the Customer Service Manager, and if necessary, all staff in the branch. I also had to on a daily basis inspect all security equipment/physical barriers in order to do a full risk analysis profile for each branch. Areas that are covered are: the location of cameras and video equipment and their working condition, positioning of the PIR’s, all-round safety of the branch – inside as well as outside, doors, CCTV and Alarm System, emergency exit compliance to Health and Safety Act.
