About
I'm a student services professional committed to increasing accessibility to post-secondary education through transparency, honesty, and effective communication. I operate with an appreciation that the best intended policies and programs are meaningless if they're not navigable, so I prioritize the use of plain language principles and intentional counselling to help students make informed choices about their post-secondary future. Currently, I work with transfer and mature students at the University of Guelph, where I've developed an effective recruitment and advising platform by leveraging relationships with like-minded colleagues throughout Ontario's post-secondary community. Otherwise, I'm an experienced qualitative researcher, McGill and Guelph alum, current Conestoga Career Development Practitioner student, and recent Hamiltonian. Feel free to connect with me here, or email me at christine.porterfield@gmail.com.
