Christine Tshibuayi Mwenge Kahinda

am an accomplished Senior Scientist and Immunologist with extensive international experience in R&D, spanning the UK, France, and South Africa. My career is dedicated to driving the development of effective vaccine strategies to address critical animal and human health challenges. As a former EU FP7 Marie Curie PhD Fellow, I conducted deep immunopathology research at the prestigious MRC National Institute for Medical Research (now the Francis Crick Institute, London) and the University of Montpellier 2. This background provided expertise in immune mechanisms and biomarker identification. Currently, I leverage this expertise at Design Biologix, where my R&D focus is broad, encompassing both bacterial vaccines and protozoan parasites (including Babesia, Tritrichomonas foetus, and Heartwater). I work on antigen discovery, adjuvant selection, and vaccine formulation to ensure food security and animal health in Southern Africa. My work adheres to stringent European Pharmacopoeia (EP) and GMP standards. I actively mentor the next generation of South African scientists through postgraduate supervision and am currently leveraging my diverse skills for future executive opportunities where I can apply strategic leadership in innovative biological solutions.
