This was a mentor role in which I supported two early childhood graduates in their first year teaching. It involved meeting with my mentees for individualised onsite support on numerous occasions and ongoing email correspondence. Support was provided to identify challenges and realistic goals and develop a plan. I also provided professional resources and worked collaboratively to help them confront challenges and feel confident in their work.

In this role I am a strong advocate for children's cultural and linguistic rights in Early Childhood Services across Victoria. My advocacy work is in the form of facilitating the development of culturally competent pedagogy aligned with the National Quality Framework. I provide Early Childhood Educators with ongoing support over the phone and onsite, providing resources and tools to build capacity and develop action plans to support progress. I also travel Victoria to facilitate Family Day Care network meetings funded by Gowrie Victoria and provided individualised training for Early Childhood Services. Another large part of my role is to support, recruit and manage bilingual workers, who are an important part of fkaCS support to services. I am often supporting bilingual workers during their work with children and provide training to build understanding of early childhood development and specific support requirements. In addition to this I participate in regular professional discussions within consultancy team meetings and take part in projects within the organisation.
