Leadership role in various spring and summer enrichment camps for youth finishing grades 3 - 8.

Planning, organization, and running of daily activities at a children’s residential horse and outdoors camp for 4 summers. Responsible for liasing between parents, staff, and children, supervising 10 staff and doing work as accounts payable/receivable.

Management of day to day laboratory operations of Saville Lab and collaboration in international research project, GeM-FTC. In addition to completing self-directed molecular biology research, I was responsible for training incoming students, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.

Received, instructed, and processed clients interested in paternity testing, drug testing, pardons/waivers, canine breed assessment, genetic allergy testing, etc.

Operation of various lab equipment (freeze-drier, titrator, turbidity meter, gamma counter, microbalance, fluorometer, and absorbance spectrophotometer), for preparation of soil, water, and other environmental sample types. Also responsible for species identification of and muscle sample extraction from large number of Kawartha lakes fish, and maintaining overall lab cleanliness.

Greeting and directing clients as needed in addition to providing secretarial support to office staff.

Completed honours thesis on the identification of DNA sequence variability in circadian gene for two model species of Peromyscus, using a candidate gene approach. Supervised by Dr. Paul Wilson.
