When my internship within the Metropolitan Council’s Housing and Redevelopment Authority began, the Section 8 and Public Housing waiting lists had re-opened for the first time in seven years. I managed written and phone correspondence with over 6,000 Section 8 and Public Housing applicants. I also helped facilitate the Family Affordable Housing Program by maintaining contact with hundreds of tenants, 11 city police departments, and the property management company. Additionally, I assisted with inspections and evictions and provided administrative support for the Housing and Redevelopment Authority Manager. Beyond the day to day administrative duties, I gained valuable experience serving people in very difficult life situations. This internship combined my interest in affordable housing with the opportunity to reach out and have a positive impact in my community.

The Center for Energy and Environment (CEE), was contracted by the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) to carry out an airport noise mitigation program. My primary role as a Design Reviewer was to review construction plans together with homeowners for window, door, insulation, and HVAC treatments used for soundproofing and prepare homeowners for construction. During my two years in this position, I reviewed construction plans with thousands of homeowners and our office collectively carried out approximately $80M in residential soundproofing construction projects.

Park planning experience in diverse cultural and natural settings across the country. Project work includes Long Range Transportation Plans, Foundation Documents, General Management Plans, Boundary Adjustment Studies, Land Acquisition Plans, Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, and other park planning and transportation efforts.
