I collaborated to create pitches and campaigns for international companies including Chase, VH1 and Microsoft. As a writing intern, I primarily brainstormed headlines and body copy. Additionally, I gathered research for both interoffice needs and presentations for clients.

Obtained this position by being awarded the Crouse Scholarship for Excellence in Professional Writing. As the Crouse Intern, I served as a liaison between the Professional Writing Department and the Purdue Writing Lab. I organized technological workshops aimed at getting Professional Writing students more involved with the Writing Lab.

Tutored undergraduate students in the Purdue Writing Lab by proofreading business documents (including resumes, cover letters and personal statements). Worked with students to develop strategies that would improve their writing skills and gained experience working with English as a Second Language students and international students.

Updated the blog, Beauty and the Dirt, with original written content, wrote press releases on behalf of the production and created public relations material. I attended press events for product promotions throughout London. I also collaborated with two other American interns to compose product reviews and lifestyle articles. I organized clerical work regarding ad revenue for Beauty and the Dirt and over 50 sister sites.

I completed project summaries and wrote online content for the Strategic Communications department. Additionally, I composed press reports and newspaper articles regarding community projects that the firm was involved in.

Am currently teaching 8th grade English Language Arts with a progressive curriculum that focuses on social justice and workshop style lessons. I have been able to receive professional development on a wide variety of topics including ESOL instruction, character education and Readers/Writers workshop methods. It has been a fantastic place to learn and grow as a first year teacher.
