Lead developer on a high-throughput Electricity Prepaid Vending System (PVS) processing 800+ TPS and deployed across Rwanda, DRC, and South Sudan. Responsible for core system architecture, protocol implementation, and mission-critical service reliability. Key Contributions: 1. Designed and implemented the IEC protocol integration, enabling secure and standardized prepaid electricity vending. 2. Built core banking, lending, and billing modules used by vendors, merchants, and end users. 3. Engineered an exportable, multi-country version of the PVS platform, supporting cross-market deployments. 4. Developed an active-passive disaster recovery architecture, ensuring high availability, failover resilience, and near zero-downtime operations. 5. Optimized platform performance, scalability, and fault tolerance for nationwide usage. Tech focus: distributed systems, high-TPS transaction processing, systems integration, fault-tolerant design, and on premise-ready deployment architectures.

Responsibilities held: • Preparing recitations and assignments, along with solutions for assignments; • Grading homework assignments and assign grades; and • Holding office hours to answer the students’ questions and help them with exercises.

Developed the contract management module on the Umucyo platform, Integrated the cloud PKI which is used in authentication and action/document signing.

Lead the team that produced data for an academic paper [PhD thesis at Oxford University] on the effectiveness of state policy on the socio-economic life of Rwandan citizens in the Southern and Eastern Province through in-depth and focus groups interviews.
