Provided a comprehensive estimating and cost planning services to contractors, clients, developers and consultancies for all types of construction projects.

Combined estimating and bid management role, working on a range of educational, commercial and civic projects ranging in value from £5m - £160m.

Working on complex residential led mixed use schemes with significant elements of retail and hospitality ranging in value from £25m to £160m. Projects included single stage, two stage and negotiated opportunities for Bouygues’ internal development business as well as external clients. Being a new business unit, Bouygues Housing London were still establishing a client base so this role involved significant liaison with existing and potential clients. The Estimator’s role at Bouygues is more involved than within British companies whereby the Estimator is responsible for managing the inputs from most bid team members, including civils and M&E estimators, planners, design coordinators and methods engineers. I was also been responsible for the development of a benchmarking database recording cost data, with a statistician reporting to me.

Part of specialist central team which focused on mixed use, high value schemes (up to £100m) exposing me to a varied and interesting range of projects, allowing me to further develop and expand my skills obtained during my time within the Housing division. Working at part of a smaller team gave me the opportunity to work more autonomously, and take on greater levels of responsibility. As many projects began an a conceptual or initial appraisal stage, I became more involved in the design process, gained a greater appreciation of the planning process, and had greater exposure to the client-contractor relationship. The position also involved development and maintenance of estimating pricing forms used company-wide.

Projects priced included residential developments for social landlords, multi-storey apartment complexes for private developers, care homes, student accommodation and hostels. Project values £15m - £40m.

Joined Willmott Dixon's industry renowned training scheme completing placements within different departments of the company. Within three months of joining the company I was independently pricing tenders, seeing the full tender process from start to finish. Assisted on D&B and PFI projects including a number of BSF schemes, commercial, retail and healthcare projects. Project values £15m - £100m.
