The human body, specifically its anatomy and physiology, have fascinated me since my teenage years. As I grew older, I suffered several orthopedic injuries and began building a knowledge base in this area – a knowledge base that, in turn, prompted my love for the medical field. This connection to the medical field then translated to my schoolwork, leading to my decision to study Biology, with a concentration in Pre-Medical Studies, during my time as an undergraduate student. As my educational experience progressed and I continued to become more knowledgeable in my field, I received the chance to broaden my horizons and obtain valuable knowledge in the operating room and the clinic through shadowing various physicians. Between 2007 and 2011, I shadowed physicians in the OR for approximately 800 hours, witnessing procedures that corrected a myriad of injuries. This invaluable experience allowed me to form relationships with physicians, scrub technicians, and nurses – relationships that have benefited me greatly in the medical device industry.
