As a member of the Training Staff I designed and implemented training programs for both basic recruits and sworn police officers. I handled planning and logistics for on and off site academy training evolutions. I also managed and taught large groups of police recruits on a daily basis. I was the lead Defensive Tactics instructor for the department as well as the physical training coordinator. I was also responsible for planning and scheduling of the annual in service training for the department.

I served as a Patrolman in the Downtown area of the city of Norfolk. I enforced criminal and traffic code while keeping the peace and responding to emergency calls for service. I testified in criminal and traffic court and assisted the Commonwealth Attorneys office as needed.

As a Detective with the NPD I've been tasked with investigating virtually every type of crime. Examples of such crimes include malicious wounding, aggravated assault, robbery, shooting into occupied dwellings, grand larceny, fraud, and auto theft. I'm currently one of two investigators assigned to the newly formed Missing Persons Unit and work regularly with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as well as other Local, state, and Federal agencies. I have experience building detailed case reports for the Commonwealth attorneys office and testifying in criminal proceedings as a witness for the prosecution. I have extensive experience with interview and interrogation and identifying deceptive behavior. I posses strong organizational, problem solving, and communication skills.
