Since early retirement I have become more involved with the Oadby & Wigston Lions Club. President in 2013/2014, in June 2013 helped setup and currently run the Wigston food bank, with over 400 people on our books and 30 volunteers, always looking for more tinned and packet food, also helped setup the Oadby foodbank. Involved in Leicester city & Leicestershire county councils food forums, helping coordinate foodbanks throughout the city & county. Member of the Wigston Business Group and the Oadby Stakeholder group, this enables me to know whats going on in my area and where possible to get involved. In November I was honoured by an award by the Mayor of Oadby & Wigston for services to the community. All in all life after retirement has been hectic, challenging but enjoyable it has given me the opportunity to help the less fortunate in my community, we can all make a difference, just try.

Responsible for all merchandising of childrens, slippers and sports shoes and buying and merchandising of sundries, laces, polishes etc. Setup slippers to be pre packed for Christmas to speed output through the warehouse during the busy period. Branch merchandised selected shops, this resulted in the doubling of takings in some cases.
