This job involved liaising with clients throughout the Asia Pacific region to identify their technical needs and suggest suitable equipment for them. The job also required planning and conducting sales calls with customers in coordination with district operations and sales teams. I was working as part of the larger Wellbore Intervention team to increase business opportunities in the assigned area of responsibility. It was necessary for me to liaise with external and internal customers on technical and commercial issues.

Fluid Pumping/Cementing Engineer It was necessary for me to liaise with clients daily ensuring designs were prepared and submitted on time. A good knowledge of hydraulics was required to ensure the job could be delivered within the given parameters. I had to report sales on a weekly basis and manage the inventory to ensure the department targets were achieved. I was involved in promoting new technology and identifying the client’s needs. A further responsibility was to ensure that the End of Well Report was submitted on time. Communication played a large part in this job as I needed to ensure that jobs were carried out safely and efficiently with both the operational staff onshore and offshore.

I completed Engineer Training for BJ services in the Kilgore District, Texas. Training included one week of study followed by three weeks of practical exposure on all services and products of BJ Services. This included; fracturing, cementing, coiled tubing, acidising, completion fluids, sand control, and down hole tools.

After graduating from university I spent the first four months working in the cement laboratory, coiled tubing workshop, and fluid pumping workshop. My duties were to assist the laboratory technicians with cement testing/analysis and assist the mechanics in the workshop prepare the equipment before being sent offshore.
