Responsible for the establishment of a robust risk management framework to identify, assess, monitor and manage the strategic, operational, financial, compliance and external risks to which the Group (including our Funds and Partner Companies) is exposed along with implementing effective steps to prevent, transfer, mitigate or accept such risks.

Audit team leader on a variety of financial services audits of large clients including LIFFE, Brown Shipley, BBVA, and Winterflood Securities.

* Responsible for: * supporting the Private Banking Investment Group (PBIG) Chief Investment Officer in the development and sales of investment products across Group Private Banking * development and implementation of PBIG strategy * administration of the PBIG Executive Committee to manage commercial activities within PBIG * and * establishing an effective risk management framework to manage investment risk across the Group.

* Responsible for: * establishing an effective framework to manage operational risk and internal control within HSBC Private Bank (UK) Limited; and * directing internal control reviews to ensure minimum standards of controls and to report on the adequacy of the internal control environment and on compliance with regulatory and Group requirements.

* Responsible for: * the establishment of the investment risk monitoring framework for HSBC Private Bank (UK) Limited and reporting of key investment risk issues to the Risk Management Committee * implementation of internal audit, external audit, and regulatory recommendations * and * administration of the New Product Approval Committee.

* Audit manager with responsibility for the audits of Global Asset Management and Global Private Banking businesses. Responsibilities included: * audit planning, review of audit fieldwork and presentation of audit findings to senior management; * review of business dispensation requests; and * consultation regarding new policies & regulations thereby contributing to the improvement of internal controls and risk management practices.

Also attended the University of Valladolid for one year as part of the degree.
