I enjoy working with others to bring our visions to life, as well as mentoring other students! In the long run, I hope to improve the efficiency of renewable energy technologies and contribute to making them more commonplace. Water Power Research and Development Intern

Run Ansys mechanical simulations on a wave energy converter prototype to determine stresses and strains on different areas. Analyze and plot millions of datapoints in MatLab from Fiber Bragg Grating sensors (FBGs) and conduct literature review research of FBGs. Assist postdoctoral students with Ansys and Delft3D simulations for tidal and current energy converters by submitting jobs to a supercomputer via Linux Console.

Accumulator Air Cooling Lead

Manage a team of five members to design and validate a first-generation air cooling system for a racecar accumulator. Create simplified CAD models of more complex accumulator geometries to assist with STAR CCM+ CFD simulations. Design and execute an empirical testing plan to validate simulation results and thermistor accuracy. Interface with the battery management system design team and the accumulator container design team to produce an optimal solution. Taught SolidWorks to new members.

Battery Pack Co-Lead

Co-managed a team of six members to design and manufacture a first-generation electric race car accumulator. Ran SolidWorks finite element analysis to determine mechanical stress and displacement values to validate designs. Preprocessed conductive bus bars and designed electrical box enclosures in SolidWorks. Manufactured a small-scale and full-sized battery pack. Coordinated with several vendors and assisted with timeline development. Taught SolidWorks to new members.

Led and managed a team of 10 high school members to design, build, and program a robot for the international FIRST Tech Challenge competition. Managed both hardware and software projects; oversaw timelines, project assignments, budgets, systems integration, troubleshooting, competition game strategy, and sponsorships; worked closely with adult mentors and coaches. Led and completed several hardware projects, assisted with all software development and testing. I was also nominated to be a Dean's List Semifinalist in 2020. In 2020, we additionally won the following notable team awards under my leadership: IL Championship Finalist Alliance Captain, IL 2nd Place Control (Programming) Award Winner, and Chicago South League 2nd Place Inspire Award.
