What if science could change how the world experiences periods? Hi, I’m Chitranshi Baranwal, a microbiologist turned social entrepreneur, building science-backed and sustainable solutions for menstrual health. I am the Co-founder of Genie Pads, where we create truly biodegradable sanitary products powered by our patented BioSynQ Technology, designed to support comfort, hygiene, and dignity during menstruation. My work sits at the intersection of women’s health, sustainability, and innovation. I am also an author of an academic book in Microbiology, with upcoming books in Pathology and Genetics, and I'm a menstrual and sexual health expert focused on making evidence-based knowledge accessible and stigma-free. I currently represent India as a Global Ambassador with the World Literacy Foundation and have been recognised as one of the Top 50 WomenLeaders India Fellows by Reliance Foundation and Vital Voices. I have also been selected as a WILD Global Leader 2025, becoming part of a global community of women driving change through purpose and action. While I have been honoured with awards such as the International Women Entrepreneur Award 2024 and the National Women’s Entrepreneur Award 2023, the most meaningful impact shows up elsewhere. It is in every girl who understands her body with confidence. Every woman who consciously chooses biodegradable over plastic. Every conversation that helps shift menstruation from silence and stigma to knowledge and pride.
