Team Aid was founded in 2017 on one fundamental principle: Helping people living abroad that need assistance after experiencing devastating circumstances. Contested as an MLA candidate from Madana Palle constituency of the AP (Erstwhile United Andhra Pradesh, India) assembly constituency through Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) in April 2009. Got 33000 votes polled. Ranked 8th, among 52 constituencies from the entire Rayalaseema region (consisting of the four districts - Chittoor, Kadapa, Anantapur and Kurnool, in terms of number of votes polled for PRP candidates). Ranked 2nd among Debutant Politicians (1st was Founder , President of PRP, Mega Star Chiranjeevi himself) from the region. Given the complexities of Indian Electoral politics in India and even more in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, this was deemed as moral victory. Fact sheet on the Political sojourn: The launch and subsequent winding up of Praja Rajyam Party under highly dramatic circumstances including the tragic death in a plane crash of the then Chief Minister of AP, Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, are legendary in the Politics of AP. The party was launched with an unprecedented fanfare, in the presence of over 2 million people at Tirupathi. The launch was nationally televised, and the 2009 PRP campaign and elections were closely tracked by global print & electronic media. Part Murphy’s law, part Destiny, part quirky Indian Electoral dynamics, PRP created and became history, within a span of 4 years. PRP was founded by the Matinee idol & 'Mega Star’ of Telugu films, Actor turned Politician Shri Chiranjeevi. My determined research to find solutions to chronic local, people's issues, the result oriented and unifying approach, won over numerous hearts, more than the votes and beyond the elections, so much so that unrelated, educated young voters started a voluntary signature campaign to insist on my return to Politics in 2014 Elections, and steadfastly persuaded to make me accept a candidacy as a Member of Parliament from Rajampet. For an absolute non-political politician, this gave immense positive energy and faith in people that they do notice and appreciate merit, even in a sea of chaos.
