Worked on creating a device using surface acoustic waves and an immunoassay to diagnose the Dengue virus in its early stages of infection.

Designed and implemented a multi-modal system that uses EEG and motion tracking to examine biomarkers and quantitatively track the progression of Parkinson’s Disease in patients.

Designed a DOE and experimented on a minimal panel of genes to optimize Illumina’s RNA Access protocol and robustly profile lowly expressed portions of the transcriptome.

* •Assisted researchers in experiments such as ELISPOT assays to find the magnitude of immune responses to specific peptides * •Worked in tissue cultures to create and amplify a cell line. * •Executed PCR and gel electrophoresis in order to verify the presence of certain genes in mice. * •Learned sterile technique and shadowed researchers in their research to find and isolate peptides in bacteria such as tuberculosis.

* •Explained the science and technology behind various exhibits to guests that visit from around the world. * •Supervised the life tech exhibit where I oversaw guests attempt to replicate the protocol for transforming E. Coli with jellyfish genes to make them glow. * •Taught guests about osteoarthritis of the hip, and how hip joint replacements work. * •Explained and presented the science behind shape memory metal (nitinol). * •Operated and presented the jetpack and earthquake simulators and expounded on facts about earthquakes and jetpacks

•Used Variant Analysis and MATLAB to compare SNP frequencies in the beta globin locus in Tibetans to SNP frequencies for the general population in order to gain an understanding of the genetic basis for the Tibetan's unique reaction to hypoxic environments. •Extracted DNA from blood samples in order have them sequenced and analyzed for genetic information.
