I founded Lab2Doctors with a mission to bridge the gap between laboratory science and clinical decision-making. In this role, I envision and guide the development of a clinician decision-support platform that helps translate complex diagnostic data into meaningful clinical insight. My work focuses on elevating the value of laboratory medicine by creating tools that empower healthcare providers, inform patients or their caregivers and support accurate interpretation at the point of care. I lead the strategic direction of the organization, shape the scientific vision, and collaborate across clinical and scientific networks. Through this venture, I’ve been able to merge my executive laboratory experience with my passion for innovation, creating a forward-looking solution that advances precision diagnostics and supports better clinical outcomes.

As CLIA Lab Director and Medical Director, I oversee comprehensive clinical testing operations while ensuring regulatory excellence, quality performance, and scientific integrity. I direct laboratory governance, validation activities, compliance practices, and clinical interpretation. I also lead efforts to strengthen QA/QC systems and guide testing methodologies that support both regional and national diagnostic needs. My role allows me to mentor teams, support clinical decision-making, and drive continuous improvement in laboratory processes. I serve as a scientific advisor, oversee complex test challenges, and play a key role in maintaining standards aligned with regulatory requirements and patient-centered outcomes.

I joined the WellStar Health System to build and lead a high-volume COVID-19 molecular testing program during a critical public health period. I established operational systems, implemented quality frameworks, and guided laboratory teams through crisis-level scaling while maintaining scientific accuracy and regulatory compliance. This role allowed me to combine operational leadership with public health responsibility, ensuring accurate reporting and readiness while navigating one of the most pressing laboratory challenges of our time.

In this position, I directed comprehensive laboratory operations, ensuring that our services aligned with regulatory standards and clinical expectations. I strengthened quality systems, standardized procedures, and prepared the laboratory for regulatory review and accreditation. I focused on improving laboratory workflows and guiding teams through operational processes that supported safe, accurate, and compliant diagnostic services. My work centered on elevating operational maturity while creating a culture of continuous improvement across laboratory functions.

In this role, I managed toxicology laboratory operations and established quality and regulatory structures from the ground up. I developed laboratory-developed tests, implemented compliant workflows, and supported clinical interpretation for toxicology-related testing. I had the opportunity to design laboratory processes that aligned scientific rigor with clinical need, contributing to building a specialized diagnostic capability that supported safe and informed clinical care.

During my fellowship, I advanced my expertise in clinical pathology, molecular diagnostics, and laboratory interpretation while supporting clinical consultation and training hospital staff. I contributed to clinical case interpretation and gained specialized experience in diagnostic pathology and clinical chemistry. This period strengthened my foundation as a laboratory medicine, diagnostic/scientific expert and shaped my approach to laboratory medicine as both a scientific discipline and a clinical support system.

As Technical Director, I supervised clinical testing, guided scientific strategy, and supported precision diagnostic initiatives across molecular and cardiovascular laboratory services. I also oversaw assay validation, quality practices, and the introduction of new diagnostic technologies into clinical use. This experience strengthened my ability to integrate emerging testing methodologies, mentor laboratory professionals, and ensure that laboratory science effectively supports clinical practice in cardiovascular and precision medicine.

In this role, I gained hands-on experience supporting public health through newborn screening testing. I worked with mass spectrometry–based methods to detect genetic and metabolic disorders, and I learned to navigate the precision and urgency required for time-sensitive diagnostic testing. I interpreted screening results and assessed their clinical significance, ensuring that healthcare providers received clear, actionable information for infant care. This experience strengthened my ability to analyze complex laboratory data under strict timelines while maintaining accuracy and quality. It also deepened my appreciation for the critical role laboratory medicine plays in early intervention and population health insight that continued to influence my clinical leadership approach as my career progressed.
