As a Statistician at the Northern Corridor, I play a key role in data analysis, policy research, and trade facilitation. My responsibilities include: 1. Corridor Performance Monitoring: Develop and track corridor performance indicators to assess trade efficiency. 2. Data Collection & Management: Improve data sourcing mechanisms, engage with key stakeholders, and enhance the data collection quality for trade facilitation. 3. Trade Policy Research & NTB Analysis: Conduct economic and trade policy research using economic modeling to evaluate the impact of Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs) on trade. 4. Stakeholder Engagement & Evidence-Based Research: Gather qualitative insights from stakeholders to enrich data analysis and policy recommendations. 5. Policy Advisory & Recommendations: Provide strategic advice to Northern Corridor Partner States on trade facilitation, NTBs, and economic policies. 6. Impact Assessment of NTBs: Analyze the socioeconomic effects of NTBs on trade volumes, transit costs, and border-crossing times along the Northern and Central Corridors. 7. Report Development: Produce periodic reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual) for the Transport Observatory, ensuring high analytical standards. 8. Policy Briefs & Strategic Reports: Prepare trade policy briefs highlighting NTB impacts on trade facilitation, supporting decision-makers with actionable insights. 9. Participation in Regional Forums: Represent the Transport Observatory in regional knowledge-sharing platforms to advance data-driven decision-making. Key Projects & Deliverables: NTB Impact Assessment Studies: Quantified the socioeconomic effects of NTBs. Trade Policy Brief Series: Produce policy briefs on NTB trends, advocating for streamlined customs procedures and harmonized regional trade laws. Central Corridor Trade Efficiency Reports: Author annual report analyzing transit corridor bottlenecks, cited by Partner States to justify infrastructure investments.

o Prepare checklist before field deployment and training o Facilitate and administer training to field enumerators and ensure all materials are updated o Conduct qualitative data collection (independently or with a team) o Recruitment and finalization of enumerator/field researchers o Proposal writing at a rapid pace o Support in tool development and report writing for projects o Coordinate with client/partner organization and field-level staff for coordination prior to fieldwork o Debriefing and real-time data review o Prepare mobilization plan as per need for field work for self and project basis o Build roster/network and maintain a database of consultant/experts, enumerators and research partnerships with potential organizations o Development of tools in Kobo/translation of questionnaire in Swahili when required o Meet deadline/timeline at all times and strictly follow the privacy and branding policy of the organization o Coordinate with admin and research team for other collaborative work o Ensure excellent quality assurance, planning and formatting skills o Monitoring and supervision of the project activities; able to communicate to clients o Conduct data cleaning, quantitative analysis and write-up o Conduct field work and supervision including in remote regions with minimal amenities, when required o Consolidate and synthesize the data and information for quantitative and qualitative data analysis, where needed

• Assist all Qualitative and M&E aspects of the project; Coordination and alignment in all technical credentials of the project where you draw your experience from past projects to ensure the success of projects. • Work closely with research and M&E lead in developing qualitative evaluation approaches proposed in the technical proposal. • Design qualitative and quantitative tools for each of the projects • Assist in conducting interviews with users and stakeholders to gather their feedback on the project. • Analyze the project's documentation, including the requirements specification, design documents, and implementation plans. • Work closely with qualitative data analysts including assigning tasks during fieldwork and overseeing work done. • Work closely with customs and trade facilitation experts and research and M&E lead in developing ToR and work plan for qualitative data analyst. • Assisting in designing and developing qualitative data thematic coding and in the development of the ToR and recruitment of experts for qualitative data transcription and coding • Review the transcribed work and ensure it aligns with key evaluation aspects for each project. • Assist in writing qualitative and quantitative aspects of the evaluation reports.

Key contributions: ●Supporting data modeling, collection, mining, collation, cleaning and analysis and report writing from data insights. ●Development, pretesting, and administering of data collection tools i.e. Questionnaires, FGDs, KIIs Tool's coding in KOBO, etc. ●Conducting large-scale surveys, handling large datasets & performing statistical analysis in R, STATA, SQL, Excel & Python, managing MEL datasets throughout evaluation projects' life-cycle, and designing dashboards and end of projects reports. ●Supporting the research and data team in designing Impact Evaluations, developing, reviewing, and finalizing evaluation analysis plans, and evaluation frameworks, and contributing to the drafting of work plans, data collection tools, and field monitoring tools for each IE activity; Establishing, monitoring, and updating work plans and budgets for MEL Projects plus overseeing mobilization of evaluation teams. ●Performing detailed literature reviews and writing policy briefs, and detailed reports using analyzed data for decision-making.

Key contributions: ●Performed basic quantitative/qualitative data analysis, key metrics, and trends for various projects. ●Performed in-depth reporting of various projects and programs undertaken by PACT. ●Preparation of detailed and comprehensive proposals for client acquisition and identification of consulting opportunities for PACT. ●Preparation of data reports, proposals, project progress reports, and coordination of internal projects. ●Provision of weekly and monthly executive briefings for project progress to PACT staff.

Key contributions: ●Data collection on ODK Toolkits & KOBO, cleaning, and analysis in SPSS, Excel, and STATA. ●Searching for New Bids, writing proposals and presentations to potential clients. ●Preparation of value proposition proposals for client acquisition and identification of consulting opportunities for ARC. ●Preparation of data reports, project progress reports, and coordination of internal projects.

Key contributions: ●Programming and validating simple datasets and SDTMs in SAS and R. ●Performing clinical data cleaning and preparation of code books and macros in SAS, Excel, and R programming languages. ●Develop simple macros and be able to assign macro variables. Use and debug existing macros. QC and update of non-complex dataset specifications with supervision.
