Chelsea Hughes

This position allowed me to manage a team of my own that helped me cater to top brands such as Zara, Mango, Esprit, Bonita, Mexx and Calvin Klein. My team would fulfill specific requests from Buyers/Designers, with fabric sourcing and specific sampling/factory sourcing. In addition, I utilized extensive trend research to create design packages for each season, relevant to the specific client. Also, I managed the graphic design team to create technical sketches, y/d CADs, strike-offs and trim/embroidery designs.

In this three month program, I was able to work along with both founders; one in design, the other in business. I prepared tech packs, sourced fabric, assisted on the website, organized PO’s, sent orders and facilitated sample sales.

As the intern at Babakul, my duties ranged through all departments. Some of my day-to-day tasks included organization and preparation of product, creation of color cards, tech packs and line sheets, down to preparing packages for vendors.
