About
I've had an interesting path that led me to where I am today. My first position out of college was for a shipping and airfreight company where I focused on providing service to our customers. I then moved onto more of a cold calling/lead generation role for a Human Resources Consulting company which is where my interest in Human Resources began. I was then approached for an unrelated opportunity to work for a small family-owned company that was doubling in size. I was selected to join the company who was awarded a contract with the federal government to manage underfunded pension plans. I started as a Junior Pension Benefit Analyst and then got promoted to a Senior Pension Benefit Analyst. There was limited opportunity for growth so after 3.5 years I left to work for one of the most famous companies in Pittsburgh...Heinz. I spent 7 years as a Vendor Management Inventory Analyst managing Heinz inventory for one of our largest customers on the west coast. During that time, I learned how to build successful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders while also learning how to manage the right amount of inventory to meet our customers' needs. Unfortunately, Heinz was sold in 2013, and the company underwent a major reorganization. After losing all of our leaders during the reorganization, I was then asked to step up as a leader and help support those team members who were left behind in the chaos. I had no work/life balance and was ready to move on. I was recruited by a former Heinz employee to work as a Supply Chain Analyst for a start-up food company. I made the move, but it didn't last long as the company went bankrupt after 3 months. I spent a little time at several companies throughout the Pittsburgh area...none of which were a fit for me. I then connected with a former co-worker who was working for a chemical company in Customer Service. I interviewed and was selected to join Axiall as a Customer Service Representative. After a little over 1.5 years, Axiall was going to be sold to Westlake. My search then started over again which is how I landed at NOVA Chemicals. I started at NOVA Chemicals in October 2016 as a Customer Experience Specialist, was promoted to a Customer Experience Coordinator after 1.5 years and in November 2020, I was selected to move into a newly created Customer Experience Supervisor role. Circling back to my long-term interest for the field of HR, I decided it was time to make a change to transition to a career path that always captured my interest...HR/Talent Acquisition which is where I am today!
