The Richardson Institute is a well-established UK interdisciplinary forum for research on peace and conflict at a top 10 university. Researched the interaction between gender norms and drivers to join or avoid joining armed groups in the context of the Ukraine conflict, created a constructive report of our research suggesting improvments to existing UK policy and practices for our external partner International Alert. I have worked with a group of three students of varying backgrounds within a team and utilised each of our academic skillsets to ensure that the research is collected for a strict deadline. Developed a printed poster of our findings and delivered a presentation on our research at an exhibition event to university staff and external partners.

Researched and gave verbal and written feedback to staff on museum childcare policy and publicity awards that the charity could qualify for. Compiled an ‘impact’ evaluation by determining the results of three projects the museum ran. Analysed questionnaire feedback from parents and staff on the programmes and summarised a large amount of qualitative and quantitative data by condensing into a clear evaluative table in a Microsoft Word document separated by project and respondents. My impact evaluation is valuable for the museum to draw upon as a reflective template for improving future projects and to demonstrate the impact of schemes to secure further funding.

Wrote successful corporate fundraising scheme applications and letters to trust organisations. Designed posters which were used in the promotion of fundraising events, wrote press releases for sponsored events which were published in newspapers. Created a questionnaire and spoke to volunteers on the phone about a proposed initiative of ‘community reserve volunteers’ for the Yorkshire area. Compiled responses into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and gave evaluative summaries to advise staff on the feedback. Questionnaires had a high response rate for Yorkshire and the initiative has since been launched nationally by the British Red Cross.
