Helped with pioneering these new applications of enterprise software by: [2004-05] assisting Ben Koo some with obtaining his PhD degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and his Object-Process Network (OPN) - combining Petri nets with Bayesian belief networks, enabling rapid machine learning (ML) with Bayesian inference for big data - became the initial basis for the software underlying DataXu (acquired by Roku) which launched the programmatic advertising industry. [2010-11] creating 2 technology and 4 business concepts for the intercloud - a network of clouds that are interconnected by software-defined networks (SDN). [2016-17] proposing to apply the AI called deep learning over some of the software code and data on GitHub in my article "Democratizing software coding via AI" in an attempt to get the AI to read and write better code, and then telling leaders at Microsoft and at OpenAI about my article: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/democratizing-software-coding-via-ai-charles-stromeyer-jr-/ [2017] proposing hybrid AI systems that adaptively switch between different kinds of ML and/or different types of artificial neural networks in my article "New "switching" approaches to AI", and this concept is now used in AI-based assistants for writing and analyzing code. [2018] suggesting to use the AI called reinforcement learning (RL) with an intrinsic memory and also hierarchical RL for financial trading applications. [2022] suggesting to adopt synthetic data for generative AI-based software coding assistants. [2023] proposing an AI transformer as a recommendation engine for many various ML models. [2023] suggesting a platform for interacting AI agents to evolve out better solutions - both for improving the safety and reliability of large language models (LLMs), and also separately for aspects of e-commerce. [2023] proposing that a blockchain could be used for AI agents to transact, and that each AI agent would have a unique provenance of data + activity + interactions + an identification number or code for purposes of authentication. Also, mentored some: 4 startups before Y Combinator, 7 startups before Techstars, a top prize winner of the MIT $100K Competition, startups that later won the world’s highest environmental prizes such as the inaugural Earthshot Prize (Takachar) and the inaugural Food Planet Prize (Sanergy), 14 people selected for the Forbes 30 Under 30 lists, 13 main cash prize winners of MassChallenge, and more. Companies helped have since raised a total of $ billions in funding, and have had 15 exits.
