Worked within a team of 15 engineering students to design and build a single-seat racing car, to compete in the 2014 Formula Student competition, run by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. Engineering responsibilities included the design and manufacture of the drivetrain system. Managerial responsibilities were to coordinate all manufacture, which involved liaising with the workshop manager to schedule workshop time and ensuring members of the team were on track with their components; assisting those less experienced with the machinery when necessary. Became treasurer for the project, which involved managing a budget of £7,000, authorising the ordering and purchasing of parts required and maintaining an up-to-date balance sheet for the university’s financial department. The team placed 80th out of 120 entries; a significant achievement considering this was only the second time Exeter University had entered the competition and the limited budget compared to other competitors.

* Supervisor to front-of-house staff. * Managing stock rotation and general cellar maintenance. * Welcome new guests and deal with any queries or complaints they may have. * As a kitchen assistant, work primarily on the “Pass-Over”, coordinating both the front-of-house and kitchen staff to deliver food to tables efficiently and to a high standard.

Worked in a team behind the bar in the stadium’s Members’ Area. - Responsibilities included delivering high quality service to large volumes of customers and management of stock rotation and ordering.

Chosen from over 80 candidates to represent the festival as one of a team of five ambassadors. - Responsibilities included co-ordinating promotional events, managing a team of reps and liaison with local business and the University.
