Charlie Bishop

A highly motivated and dedicated chemist currently studying a PhD at the University College London. I thoroughly enjoy reading and learning about all areas of chemistry but am most interested in synthetic organic chemistry and its use in biological chemistry. I have multiple research experiences; from my junior research associate (JRA) and Royal Society of Chemistry (RCS) summer programs to my third-year literature and MChem research. I am always looking to take the next big step and enhance my knowledge and skillset, both in experimental and theoretical chemistry. During my MChem I received multiple awards including: Chatt and Johnson Prizes for best 1st and 2nd Year Chemistry Performance, Murrell prize for best physical chemistry performance and the Prof. Colin Eaborn Scholarship. Outside of university, I enjoy making the most of my time through learning. I am currently trying to re-learn Spanish from my time at GSCE and have been leaning to play the guitar for 5 years. I am also a big fan of books, both fiction and non-fiction alike, and use them to wind down at the end of the day.
