Charlie Gundacker

Charlie Gundacker is a Theme Park & Resort innovator and industry leader having overseen Project Design, Creative Development, Ride and Show Delivery, and Construction Management for Universal Parks & Resort’s most esteemed and fan-favorite attractions and properties. In his role as Senior Vice President and Executive Project Director, Mr. Gundacker is responsible for overseeing the forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, designing, bidding, and construction of major projects for Universal Orlando Resorts, including the highly anticipated Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida. Walking through Universal Orlando properties, Charlie’s work can be seen throughout. Having joined Universal Orlando Resort in 1988, Charlie oversaw the development of new attractions, retail, hotels and food services facilities including many of Universal Studios headline attractions. His leadership paved the way for the success of Universal Orlando Resort development and its subsequent expansion including marquee attractions such as Hogwarts Express, Fast & Furious- Supercharged, Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Simpsons Ride, Transformers: The Ride-3D, and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, to name just a few. As Universal’s demand continued to grow, Charlie oversaw the development of resorts such as Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Sapphire Falls Resort, among others, while expanding his scope to include developing new venues at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk. Prior to joining Universal Orlando, Charlie was a Structural Engineer and Resident Project Engineer for Boyle Engineering Corporation in Orlando, Florida. He was responsible for the design of various buildings and wastewater treatment plants throughout Central Florida.
