Manage and optimize client generation and load asset portfolios with a primary focus on the Southeast bilateral markets: Develop short-term strategies through prompt month for bilateral transactions, generation offers, load bids, and transmission products for both client and proprietary positions. Work closely with client dispatch, planning coordinators, and internal staff to make economic decisions on short-term and real-time unit issues along with intra-day planning. Work with clients to define portfolio positions and develops short-term risk management strategies (physical and financial) to increase margin and lower power costs, while minimizing risk. Coordinate with all necessary internal staff to bridge the gap between the longer-term strategies and the shorter-term trading functions. Coordinate with Analytics and Portfolio Management to review and implement hedging strategies for clients.

Develop, negotiate, and execute economic and opportunistic trading strategies within the SERC, FRCC, SPP/WEIS, MISO, and PJM markets: Interact with market participants to develop, negotiate, and execute opportunistic transactions that create value for the TEA Members and Partners on an hourly basis. Coordinate with clients as to their system needs for purchases and sales, while monitoring loads and resource availability against forecasts. Enter and update planned and forced Generation Outages and De-rates in respective RTO Outage applications. Update client’s Real-Time asset forecasts for Intermittent, Demand Response, and/or Load modifications. Maintain market, resource, and interface knowledge including current tagging methodologies and requirements, as well as transmission provider’s stated business practices and tariffs.

Provide support to both Term and Real Time trading desk for all TEA trading related activities: Communicate with other marketers to confirm delivery and duration of term/day ahead transactions. Create and order transmission reservations on OASIS servers, as well as build tags on OATI ETS software. Support real-time and term traders in analyzing and reacting to current market and competitive conditions. Auditing historical transactions: Review of prior day(s) real-time transaction detail to ensure accuracy in transition to Settlements. Primary contact for daily communication with TEA’s Settlements and Risk Control departments for discrepancy resolution.

Responsible for accurate reporting of daily trading activity, monthly counterparty invoices, and client reporting: Quality control reporting to ensure accuracy of data input into the energy trading and risk management system. Market Clearing Price Analysis, identifying trends in margins earned from member/partner purchases and sales. Prepare and input daily financial settlement journal entries into the general ledger. Reconcile monthly billing adjustments and corrections of daily trading activity to general ledger.
