The President of the Florida Engineering Society (FES) serves as the leader of the organization, presiding overboard meetings, making appointments, and carrying out the society's daily business to ensure member engagement, successful external relations, and the advancement of FES missions and strategic plans. Key duties include overseeing strategic direction, fostering a collaborative culture, promoting professional development, driving membership and fundraising efforts, and advocating for public policy that supports the engineering community and the state's infrastructure. Develop and implement strategic plans to increase membership, expand programmatic impact, and ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the FES. Preside over all meetings of the FES and its Board of Directors and cast votes when applicable. Foster a collaborative culture that prioritizes member development, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to excellence. Represent the interests of the engineering profession by advocating for policies that benefit businesses, communities, and the state's infrastructure. Build and maintain strong external relations with other organizations, government bodies, and stakeholders to achieve public policy goals. Ensure sound financial practices and provide strategic oversight of the association's financial resources. Empower and support staff by investing in their professional growth and creating an environment where contributions are valued. Serve as a guiding light in the community, demonstrating compassion, promoting community service, and fostering social responsibility. Periodically report to the membership on the activities and transactions of the Board of Directors. Appointing chair positions for committees and other necessary roles within the organization

Leadership management and implementation of multi-million dollar Capital Improvement projects throughout the District. Responsibilities included design from conceptual with A&E firms, design review with government agencies, code compliance & permitting, contracting, negotiation, managing and tracking the budget and cost through project closeout.

Responsibilities included managing projects from $2 million to $4.5 million. Implementation of design with architects and engineers, design reviews with governmental agencies, permitting, contracting, negotiation and managing and tracking the budget and cost through project closeout. These projects occurred concurrently with the design and construction being administratively managed. Coordination with various operational constraints, construction schedules and guest impact was also required to successfully manage the projects.

Responsibilities included construction administration and technical management of multi-disciplinary contracts and projects related to commercial, industrial public and private entities. The projects involved quality control and inspection of hazardous waste assessment, remedial design, contamination assessment, soil and groundwater sampling, tank closure assessment, environmental site assessment, indoor air quality/industrial hygiene, physical condition assessment, health & safety, operations and maintenance, and client training. Reporting of findings based on existing conditions included recommendations to implement remediation plans, renovation plans, demolition plans, standards and specifications to bring the building up to code and compliance. Also, implemented recommendations to provide Operations & Maintenance of facilities based on findings. Responsibilities also included implementation of construction bid documents and contract administration during the bidding process. These projects occurred concurrently with contract administration, construction implementation and project closeout. 1/1988-1/1992 Staff Engineer, Developed and designed technical specifications for site remediation and/or renovation and IAQ investigations for sick building syndrome. Performed commissioning of buildings prior to the owner occupancy and receiving a Certificate of Occupancy. Commissioning included verification that systems were installed correctly and requested documentation confirming that the building systems function in compliance with the criteria set forth in the project documents.
