Chang Huat Wong

Chang Huat is the Deputy Head of IT Planning Group in Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). The department supports the technology risk and cybersecurity initiatives for Singapore office, Asia Pacific regions and other subsidiaries of the Group. The department fosters key strategic directions and capabilities that contribute to these objectives. As a deputy to the Group Head, he manages the operations of the department and responsible for the IT risk governance and cyber security measures within Singapore office and across branches / subsidiaries in Asia. In addition, he is familiar with various regulatory requirements in Asia such as MAS, HKMA, CBRC, RBI etc. He previously led the Technology Risk Supervisory work at MAS. Having been a regulator, a technology risk and IT audit and compliance specialist, he has acquired more than 20 years of extensive experience and knowledge in IT governance, technology risk management, cybersecurity and technology audit. Chang Huat graduated from the Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor of Engineer in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2nd Upper Hon). He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
