Involved in all phases of the deployment stack from architecture and engineering to deployment, training and coaching.

As part of the Network Visibility and Security project, I am responsible with: - Helping to define the design and validate it for manufacturer’s support; - Enhancements for better network security while respecting the business needs; - Building the device and security policy templates based on customer’s requirements; - Setting up and soaking the IPS appliance. Tweaking the IPS generated alerts; - Integration of the appliance with various related systems; - Creating documentation for new technologies and processes; - Putting in place standards and best practices on different tasks such as log retention and reports; - Mentoring the team members and educate the support team on how to manage the solution on their own.

Responsible with the architecture and detailed design of the modernization program, aligned with the long term vision of the company and business needs. Presentations of the plans to the upper levels of management. Projects involved with: - Internet connectivity upgrade; - Next generation firewall selection and implementation for the following roles: Firewall - layer 3 to 7, IPS, Advanced Threath Prevention, URL filtering, User-ID, application QoS, Anti-Virus protection; - Datacenters reorganization/modernization, device normalization; - Tools for monitoring and network forensics; - Documentation, including device templates, elaboration of processes and how to guides, IP and VLAN utilization guides; - Realization of the automation scripts for, and orchestrating the network side of the Disaster Recovery Plan.

Integrate telecommunication solutions and migrations into the global network of Transcontinental; Manage Cisco, Juniper, Citrix Netscaler and Radware devices for access control, routing, switching and local and global load balancing; Document new integrations, and solutions; Improving performance and reliability on all the managed network platforms and environments spread over 2 datacenters and over 100 different sites; Automation of disaster recovery testing scenarios; Migrations for ever greening projects (validate technologies and define templates to be used across the company’s network).

Partner involved in infrastructure architecture and implementation, for both cloud resources and remote units. Development of the software for the remote units. Monitoring for all the infrastructure.

Regular hours at office and on call during off-hours; As part of the Firewall Team I was providing support for Juniper, Check Point and Palo Alto firewalls, IBM intrusion prevention systems, routers and switches and penetration tests for fortune 500 companies which included architecture design, installation, security administration and management; Internet Point of Presence design and implementation (MPLS, BGP, VRRP, HA, Vsys, Split HorizonDNS, OSPF, 802.1q); Software used to manage the devices: NSM, Proventia Site Protector, NGX Smart Console, Panorama; Custom scripts to fix issues on Check Point firewalls that customer support could not identify the root cause for; External Business Request rapports based on the client’s request and firewall policy; Installation and management of monitoring and backup software that we were using: Zenoss, JFFNMS, NSM, RANCID, Panorama, Splunk, OpenVAS; Design of Secureops’ network for the new office.

As part of the Continuous Improvement of Performance team we were taking care of the health of the network and were tuning it out for improved performance.
