I was developing and maintaining geodatabases for AUV acquired seabed survey data, and working with a team of surveyors who will never stop looking for efficiency and quality improvements in their work.

I collaborated with a team of surveyors, processors and geologists. Onshore my work was primarily with procedural developments for our GIS deliverables, while my offshore work was as a Production Manager and in quality control. As a production manager my role was to assess the progress of the team and coordinate tasks in order to meet contractual milestones.

I had the overall responsibility for planning and execution of projects within Swire Seabed, focusing on the delivery of high quality project services within IMR, Survey, ROV, and Engineering. Safe and efficient offshore operations have always been my priorities. My role was to support our team of exceptional Project Managers, Offshore Managers, and Party Chiefs to achieve this on a daily basis.

I lead teams committed to performing offshore and nearshore seabed surveys including pipeline inspection. I am involved in all phases of project execution from tender to close-out. My focus is on delivering a high quality product to our clients with zero harm to people or the environment while maintaining complete financial control over project operations. Operationally, I have multiple years of practical experience offshore with AUVs, ROVs, and hull-mounted survey equipment. As an administrator I have the organisational and communication skills to effectively coordinate tasks, delegate responsibility, and manage conflict. I thrive on generating real and lasting value for our clients, on developing and following through on strategies to meet our targets, and on motivating my team to deliver simple solutions to complex problems. This is possible thanks to the many outstanding colleagues I have at DOF Subsea who know how to cooperate with one another to bring out the best in us all.

Master's Dissertation : Using Satellite Imagery to Monitor Arctic Vegetation (with focus on reindeer grazing lands in Northern Sweden) While in Cambridge I followed up my interest in crime mapping which was formed in Cape Town with a focus on the statistical analysis behind identifying "hot spots" of criminal activities. I later shifted my attention from a social/human geography perspective to a physical and technological one. I investigated alternative uses and processing techniques for satellite imagery/raster data, and developed my skills in big data post processing, statistics/probabilities, and land surveying hardware and software. Distance-learning studies, completed March 2016 This Online Specialization (hosted by Coursera) explored the evolving world of business strategy, focusing on the increasingly important roles of design, user experience, and innovation in shaping competitive advantage. This course covered concepts such as goal setting, value creation, global integration, and diversification, and included a critique of classic theories and frameworks in the context of new business realities.

South Africa has a unique and disturbing history of using cartography as an agent of oppression and enforcing racial segregation. During my time at the University of Cape Town, I worked on multiple projects with both the Geography and African Studies departments investigating the role of cartography (later, digital cartography) within a variety of difficult-to-quantify fields including crime, racial- and economic- segregation, and fear.
