SFWA is a 50+ year old nonprofit organization of over 2,000 fantasy and science fiction professional writers and other publishing industry professionals. It administers the prestigious Nebula, Norton, Bradbury and other awards and chooses the SFWA Grandmaster each year at its Nebula conference. Its mission is to serve the speculative fiction writing community through education, advocacy, support, and other works. Before serving as President, I was Vice President. As president, I: Manage a team of 200+ staff and volunteers. Oversee publications such as The SFWA Bulletin and the annual Nebula Award anthology. Support events such as the Nebula Conference and the SFWA suite at Worldcon. Develop and administer promotional programs such as the Speakers Bureau, SFWA New Release Newsletter, and the SFWA NetGalley program. Perform and coordinate outreach to over three dozen partner companies and entities. Facilitate communication between staff, members, volunteers, and the SFWA board, including the SFWA website, discussion forums, and project management system. Created and now administer SFWA Youtube channel as well as other outreach and educational efforts. Revitalized the SFWA volunteer system and continue to work with the volunteer program manager recruiting and growing volunteers.
