Cathryn Stephens, A.A.E.

As airport director of the Eugene Airport, I oversee all aspects of airport management and development, ensuring the safety, security, efficient, and fiscal responsibility of the operation of EUG. With more than 19 years of experience in the aviation industry, I have embraced progressively responsible leadership roles, taking on new challenges and opportunities across all management areas of the Eugene Airport including operations, security, airfield and facilities maintenance; finance, administration and capital improvement program; business development and public affairs including general aviation and tenant services, airline partnerships and air service development, government affairs, media relations, striving always for the best passenger experience possible. I am an Accredited Airport Executive and an active member of several professional associations including the American Association of Airport Executives, the NW Chapter of AAAE, and the Oregon Airport Management Association. I hold a Master of Science in Applied Information Management from the University of Oregon, where I was honored with the Capstone Recognition Award for my research on best practices in IoT implementations at small commercial service airports. I currently serve as vice chair of the ACRP Oversight Committee for the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies of Science. I currently serve as the Governor's appointed chair of the Oregon Aviation Board. Prior to my work in the aviation industry, I worked for 16 years in television news as a reporter, anchor, producer, and photographer, as well as a radio personality and a newspaper correspondent. I leverage my media and information management skills to enhance the public relations, advertising, and business development of Eugene Airport. I am also committed to serving my local community, as a member of the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce, an ex-officio member of the Travel Lane County Board of Directors, and part of the transportation planning team for Track Town USA events, including the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials.
