Catherine Zhao

Catherine Zhao, Ph.D., is the Chief Technology Officer of Fasikl, a pioneering neuro-AI company dedicated to developing advanced, AI-powered neural technologies. An accomplished expert in artificial intelligence, Dr. Zhao brings over 15 years of experience in computer vision, machine learning, and human-centered AI, spanning both academic research and applied development. Her work focuses on designing application-specific machine learning methods and building trustworthy systems that integrate both artificial and human intelligence. Dr. Zhao earned her doctorate in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 2009, and completed two years of postdoctoral research at Caltech. She began her academic career as a faculty member at the National University of Singapore, then joined the University of Minnesota in 2016, where she currently serves as a Professor of Computer Science and Engineering. Since joining Fasikl in 2020 as Chief AI Officer, Dr. Zhao has led the company’s AI and software development efforts. She now oversees research and development as Chief Technology Officer, driving innovation in therapeutic AI technologies and shaping the future of human-AI collaboration in medicine.
