I have been teaching for the past 18 years with the Chicago Public Schools in the area of special education. I have expertise and experience in self-contained instructional programs, resource settings, co-teaching, team teaching and planning. I have strong skills in writing IEP's especially those of transitioning students from middle school to high school. I've been apart of various teams within the school to develop programming for students across the grade levels. I have had the great opportunity of hosting student teachers and have worked closely with them to help them hone their skills to become ready for taking on their own classrooms. I have given professional development for differentiation of instruction across the grade levels, co-teaching as well as working with students in the least restrictive environment.
