Working as both and ESL support worker in an Grade 7/8 class and as a one-on-one ESL teacher for five students from a variety of backgrounds.

I worked with a co-teacher to supervise and assist all students in the Aftercare Program. Arrowsmith is a school for students with learning disabilities. Each student had homework that would assist them to overcome and improve their specific learning disability. I ensured that they finished their work, that they understood their work, and also dealt with any conflicts that arose between students.

I transcribed and edited legal cases. I checked the written cases against the recordings of them to ensure accuracy in the transcription as well as proper spelling and grammar.

I taught Grade One and ESL at a private school. Previously, at this same school, I taught Senior Kindergarten, French and Art. As a primary grade teacher, I taught the students Math, Language Arts, Creative Writing, Science, Health, Art, Drama, Reading, Cursive, Spelling and Bible. I took the given curriculum and used it to plan lessons that engaged and informed the students. I also ran and assisted with several extra curricular activities including musical productions, the school newspaper, Battle of the Books, Spanish club and sports teams.

While doing my undergraduate degree at Trent, I was also concurrently doing courses for my Bachelor of Education. I finished my Bachelor of Arts at Trent in 2008, then went to Teacher's College at Queen's from 2008 to 2009.
