After many years in Television, I decided to do something that I had always loved - garden design. Retraining at Nottingham Trent University led to a Distinction in my FdSc in Horticulture, Garden Design, and I also achieved a Commendation in the RHS Level 2 in Horticulture. I lectured in horticulture part-time for a while at Nottingham Trent University, Brackenhurst Campus and then concentrated on my garden design business - along with some freelance work as a horticultural researcher on television programmes, finishing with a time as assistant producer on ITV's Countrywise programme; working with such people as Rachel de Thame, Joe Swift, Matthew Wilson and Carole Klein. Having moved to beautiful Snowdonia, we have set up a small but luxurious 4 star B&B in the Conwy Valley, which I run along with my garden design business. I currently design for clients across North Wales and throughout Britain both for myself, and as a freelance designer for Courseworks, a design and build company based in Nottingham.
