About

Being a graduate of MacEwan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences, I have entered the field of statistics and data science/analytics. Throughout my degree, I developed a passion for data analysis and being able to tell stories and make decisions through numbers. My time at MacEwan offered me knowledge and experience with different programming languages and programs such as R, SQL, SPSS, and Python. I also have experience creating RMarkdown reports for clients through the completion of two statistical consulting projects which required me to effectively report scientific findings to a nonscientific audience. The successful completion of these projects also required and strengthened time management, effective teamwork, creative problem-solving, interpersonal and leadership skills.Along with my degree, my experience on hockey teams for more than 16 years helped polish my leadership, responsibility, and communication skills. My passion for my work has resulted in a commitment to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving field as I am continuously looking for new skills to further develop my data skills. A position that was presented to me from my statistics professor Dr. Karen Buro in which I was responsible for cleaning and organizing data from a client. I was also responsible for assisting with the implementation of statistical methods and models, conducting data analysis and presenting effective visuals to the clients to ensure the work we completed was easily comprehensible to those in different fields. We collaborated with social workers and met weekly to report findings.
