Carolyn Pierce

Carolyn has worked in Human Resources for over 20 years and is currently the HR Generalist at FLSmidth (Excel High Performance Parts) in Pekin, Illinois. She helps coordinate the health, vision, prescription, dental, benefits as well as the company's 401k, short-term disability, long-term disability and company-paid life insurance. She is the liaison between the employee and the company's workers' compensation carrier. FLSmidth Excel currently has a seven year record of 0% (no) work comp lost time incidents. Throughout her career she has been involved in most human resources functions: benefits and new hire orientation, training and education, unemployment and workers' compensation filing and coordination with employee, payroll processing, policy creation and implementation, supervision, employee relations, coordinating company-wide events and parties, manage HRIS (Human Resources Information System), providing reporting (Excel/Access). She has also had involvement in making travel arrangements for national and international travel. Having not attended college nor received a degree, her practical experience has contributed to her wide range of knowledge in the human resources field.
