I've been introduced to computers back in the 80s, my first was the glorious C64 (which I still own). It was the spark that made me fall in love with IT and, since then, I've been studying and working in the field. My work path started as a software developer for a small company, during those years I have had the opportunity to deal with all the phases of SW development, from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance. During the mid 90s I grew fond of Linux and since then it has been a constant presence both in my work and personal IT life. I can define myself as a curious, self learner, introvert kind who likes to work in informal and fluid environments. Recently I came in touch with functional programming which is what I am trying to master these days. Currently my learning efforts are aimed toward mastering Elixir and the Phoenix framework.

My work is currently focused on evolving and maintaining the IT infrastructure I have built for this company. I also am in charge of internal software development. The vast majority of IT services are provided by 3 nodes HA cluster (Proxmox VE 8) which runs 25 VMs (mostly linux servers) and 8 docker containers. One of my greatest achievement while working for this company is the FrigoSI system, which I started developing in 2012 and it is still in use today. It has a frontend developed in Angular 1.x and a backend leveraging Rails 3.2, and it is the facade for all the activities warehousing related. In 2015 I've designed, built and deployed a temperature monitoring and logging system for cold storage rooms and freezing tunnels. A total of 54 monitoring nodes has been installed and operating 24/7. This system is built with phoenix framework and version 2 is currently under development.

I had the opportunity to deal with all SW development phases, from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance. The tools of choice were .Net C#, RoR, ruby, Delphi 3 to 5. Software developed during those years covered different areas such as: - simulations (automated warehouse pickup and routing strategies) - access and presence control (from check ins/outs to periodical reports productions) - mobile handheld data collection (Windows mobile 6.5, offline and wireless) - Web development (e-commerce, business, portfolio sites) I've worked on MS Windows systems and GNU Linux (both servers and desktop variants). My knowledge of various assembly variants (Z80, 68K, x86) was of great help when working with embedded systems, and interfacing with old legacy HW/SW.
