In charge of the most centrally located branch in Birmingham, responsible for the Health and Safety, Colleagues, Transport, Stock / Purchasing and Profit and Loss, including working with internal teams such as HR, Finance and Marketing.

Responsible for: * Driving sales and margin growth * Generating and building customer and supplier relationships * Purchasing stock responsibly and strategically * Managing and planning transport for multiple HGV vehicles * Enforcing and leading company Health and Safety policy * Driving a positive and pro-active culture within the branch * People management of multiple staff in multiple different roles * Helping to strategically guide the path of the branch

In this role I have been immersed in the Builders Merchant industry learning everything from products to sales to people management and stock control. This fully accredited 2 year course aims to develop future branch managers for the Jewson business. Sales / Commerical Awareness: Consistently over-exceeded my sales targets, Developed new business and accounts from £0-£100k+ spend People Management: Learnt to adapt my management approach to a huge variety of different staff and difficult situations Operational Excellence: Fully involved in all aspects of branch operations, from picking and loading to sales paperwork and transport management. Actively driven branch controls including stock control, security and banking Project / Time Management: Completed multiple high detail projects including running a large customer charity event with regular presentations to MT members

I looked after several key Lighting Accounts on a day to day basis. I keyed and managed orders, answered phone and e-mail queries and dealt with large scale projects from a supply chain perspective. I pro actively identified stock issues and coordinated with multiple key stakeholders throughout the business to leverage the correct solutions to the customer.
