Responsible for the geotechnical assessment of soil behavior of an ongoing tunnel being dug 120 ft below the ground surface with Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) in Charleston including assessing validity of potential differing site conditions (DSC) by devising an in-situ and lab testing regime. In parallel, preparing geotechnical basis report and geotechnical-structural packages including pile capacities, geotechnical design parameter, liquefaction assessment and 3D finite element modelling of deflection and stresses on a planned 30 ft diameter-100 ft deep shaft for a 20,000 ft long tunnel in South Carolina. Planning and presenting scope for a $5M geotechnical investigation in a mountainous range in Puerto Rico. Routinely reviews and prepares packages and specs for micro-tunnelling and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) in the southeast.

Responsible for managing all the geotechnical aspects of large infrastructure projects, including identifying and mitigating the geotechnical risks, planning and executing a site investigation and leading a team of consultants to prepare and get approved hundreds of engineering reports while routinely engaging with the client. Responsibilities also included spending some time in Ferrovial's HQ in Madrid to provide technical aid to different projects all across the world and lead the geotechnical portion of large tender projects worth upwards of $1B. Accomplishments -Planned and delivered on time and on budget a challenging site investigation of more than one thousand borings in a densely populated urban area. -Led effort to prepare and get approved by the DOT close to 200 engineering reports -Built and developed key relationships with the client, construction services and Georgia Tech geotechnical academia. -Developed processes and macros to optimize steels sizes for pile foundations for a major project in Virginia reducing by this up to 40% in steel weight with savings of >$1M. -Led geotechnical effort to assemble final geotechnical bill of quantities (BOQ) and identify geotechnical risks for proposals in the US worth more than $1B. -Worked closely with other engineering groups to provide solutions to construction problems utilizing industry standard programs such as limit equilibrium and finite element methods.

Responsible for the management and analysis of soil risk uncertainties for mega construction projects around the world and provide recommendation to address any foundation, site remediation and construction site issues. Accomplishments - Successfully managed the pile driving and soil improvement subcontractors on the 1st plant to export LNG within the continental US - Handled the technical issues surrounding the driving of 7000 precast concrete piles - Performed a settlement and deformation analysis utilizing PLAXIS 2D Finite Element software to understand the behavior of a 1000ft long structure sustained by different levels of retaining walls

Responsible for performing shallow and deepwater marine soil investigations, comprising of soil sampling and in situ testing including cone penetrometer tests (PCPT), engineering static analyses, engineering dynamic analyses (e.g. liquefaction evaluations, site response analyses, axial and lateral cyclic degradation) and reporting corrective actions. Accomplishments - Served as Shift Engineer in charge of a soil technician, laboratory testing and data analysis during a month long geotechnical exploration in the Bay of Campeche, Mexico - Received "Exceeds Expectations" ranking on annual performance review

Responsible for project management and overall technical supervision of various geotechnical investigations both on and off site including the review, revision and recommendation of pile capacity, slope stability soil strength and foundation design. Accomplishments - Led the geotechnical analysis for the Magnida Fertilizer Plant FEED project - Reviewed, revised and recommended soil strength properties and evaluated foundation design for 500-km long transmission line structures for the ATCO EATL project in Alberta, Canada - Served 3 months as the field geotechnical engineer during site investigation at the Brass LNG project site on Brass Island, Nigeria - Successfully performed a Class C settlement prediction for Brass LNG using the Asaoka method

Responsible for performing and analyzing standard geotechnical tests including vane shear, pressuremeter, unconsolidated undrained, direct shear, dynamic cone penetrometer, and Briaud Compaction Device. Accomplishments - Co-authored NCHRP proposal ssto investigate the depth of scour in retaining walls

Internship role, responsible for extensive slope stability analysis and evaluation of foundation design. Accomplishments - Evaluated the design of 250 deep and shallow foundations including anticipated settlement and lateral deflection by means of standard foundation methods and software modeling on L-Pile - Undertook a root cause analysis to investigate the underperformance of 200 ACIP piles in a refinery expansion and presented the results in a co-authored white paper - Provided foundation and settlement recommendations for 10, multi-billion dollar projects
