Working on the Transport Controller solution, a complex ecosystem of Java applications for optical fiber services. Each component has a distinct role, deployed via traditional Java SE processes, often requiring JAR replacements and Docker/Linux configuration. I implement new features (epics) and resolve fault reports (FRs) in an Agile/Scrum environment with daily ceremonies. Most components use Java EE with Weld, but I also work with Spring, Guice, and Google Dagger. Applications communicate primarily via Kafka and gRPC (Protobuf), with occasional REST. Persistence relies on Oracle DB with Flyway migrations, while H2 is used for tests and lightweight production cases. Code quality is critical: I work extensively with SonarQube quality gates, integration tests, and Jenkins pipelines. Occasionally, I contribute to Angular front-end tasks. Developed a Key project: I designed a resource replicator module using Spring Boot and Thymeleaf, integrated into an existing system with five Java EE modules. The replicator processes large log volumes (50MB+) of text, mocks gRPC and Kafka containers, and provides a UI to visualize network resources and behaviors, making it essential for monitoring and troubleshooting. Now, I'm currently part of the architecture team, migrating legacy components to Quarkus with best practices and refactoring diverse CDI implementations. Also helping to develop/implement custom Gradle plugins to standardize builds and share common libraries across projects (components). Working as a full life cycle engineer, responsible for creating and delivering new projects end-to-end, from initial concept and system design to deployment. Migrated core system from Java EE to Spring Boot: Spearheaded the transformation of the company’s legacy Java EE system into a modern Spring-based application. This resulted in significant improvements in memory consumption (from 12 GB to more and less 3~4 GB), connection pooling (reducing open database connections more than 900 connections for dozens), and system startup time (from 15 minutes to seconds). Enhanced system reliability with better failure tolerance and security protocols, report generation with up to 10x more faster on generating, depending on the volume. Integrated mobile applications made with React Native: Created backend system for Android and iOS apps that cover about 15% of the main system’s functionality, including HR management and reporting features. These apps are used by more than 100 cloud customers, providing fast access to critical business data. Built and maintained a metrics system: Developed a metrics and user data collection system using Java and Spring, which enabled the sales team to make data-driven decisions based on software version usage and user behavior. Modernized company infrastructure and deployment process: Migrated deployment from a restrictive ANT-based process to a more efficient Maven-based system, automating tests and simplifying deployment for smoother operations. Developed modular and secure web applications using React JS and Spring Boot: Led the development of cloud-based web applications for employee attendance and advertisement integration, impacting hundreds of companies. This MVP supports various devices and applications, ensuring secure, scalable, and responsive operations, demonstrating its potential for further expansion. Backend Architecture: Built using Java, the IoT Hub features a multi-layer architecture to handle IoT device management, large volumes of requests, and high availability. The system is integrated with AWS services for cloud hosting, PostgreSQL for relational data storage, and DynamoDB for managing Alexa device data, ensuring seamless scalability and data persistence. Secure Communication: Implemented secure communication protocols such as MQTT for device messaging and HTTPS for application interactions, ensuring data integrity and security between the IoT Hub and connected devices. Leveraged TLS encryption for secure communication with AWS Cloud.
