During the summer months, JLG offers college students the opportunity to work in their facilities full-time. While there, I was placed at the end of the MVL20 assembly line where I built the platforms to finish the machine before it would be sent for inspection. When my station would run into part shortages, I would often go to other stations to learn how to do those jobs. My time there taught me a lot about manufacturing and the flow of production, as well as how important even the smallest bit of information can be to a company, like how many of a certain type of bolt should be at each station. If a particular station was out of even one thing, an entire line could be held up for days before more were available.

While working at Italian Village Pizza I have gained exceptional communication and time management skills. Time management is especially important while working here because there are times when I have been in charge of watching the ovens as well as taking care of the dining room. So I have to be careful of how much time passes since I opened the oven last or something could burn. This job has also taught the importance of teamwork. We always have at least one cook, one pizza maker, two drivers, one cashier, and a server. If any one of those positions are missing, we work to cover that position because we all depend on each other.
