As the founder of an English School, I’ve had the privilege of working in education for over 25 years. This experience has allowed me to create a curriculum that not only helps children master the written word but also builds confidence for the language. After earning my Master’s in Creative Writing, I’ve had the opportunity to share my insights on platforms like CNA Talking Point, CNA 93.8Fm, The Straits Times, Honeykidsasia.com, Kiasu Parents, and more. I believe in nurturing a child’s growth beyond the classroom, preparing them for the future in ways that go far beyond exams. This philosophy guided me through leadership roles within the Ministry of Education, where I led initiatives to help students sharpen their literary skills. It was this passion for holistic education that inspired me to create Writers Studio School of English—a place where children can excel in speaking, writing and reading. We teach in MOE schools too. As a Teacher Trainer for Child-Centred Instruction in local and private schools, I specialise in equipping teachers with the skills needed to effectively teach and motivate young learners. My role involves guiding teachers to build strong rapport with their students, understand their unique learning styles, and provide strategies to engage and inspire them. I focus on developing personalised approaches that cater to individual needs, ensuring that students not only excel in exams but also enjoy the learning process. As an Educational Mentor for Effective Teaching Strategies in schools, I help teachers enhance their instructional techniques, fostering environments where students feel supported, encouraged, and challenged. I emphasise the importance of emotional intelligence in teaching, guiding teachers to be mindful of how they communicate with students, address their concerns, and provide constructive feedback. Ultimately, my goal is to empower educators to create impactful learning experiences that lead to lasting academic success for their students. Outside of the classroom, I love giving back. Whether it’s sponsoring events like TTKGS music & writing initiatives or working with causes like Babes Pregnancy Crisis Support, I’m committed to making a difference. In 2024, I worked alongside independent artistes to raise funds for SAVH and supported visually impaired beneficiaries.
