I was required to engage with customers who are in receipt of the qualifying benefits to identify their barriers about returning to work and then make a personalised program for the customer to move forward. I was responsible for directly delivering employment support, including job search guidance, soft-skills development, motivational sessions and other appropriate support. I was required to link in with other agencies that maybe able to provide further support to the customer. I was also required to achieve a job entry target and this is measured by the amount of people I get into sustainable employment per month I then tracked these people for the period of a year to see how they were getting on and if they needed any further support in order for them to carry out the job in hand to a better standard.

I was responsible for taking vacancy details from employers, whilst building good relationships with them so we were the first point of call when their new vacancies arise. I was also required to ‘cold call’ companies to generate new business whilst keeping records of the employers I was calling and vacancies they had given us or when there would be a vacancy in the near future. I interviewed and tested job seekers to build a pool of people ready to fill vacancies and matched candidates to suitable jobs by screening and short listing candidates before employers interviewed them. I was responsible for meeting targets for the number of vacancies taken and the numbers of people placed into jobs negotiating agency fees accordingly.

I was required to develop the management and training of the sales team, delivering customer service of the highest standards while developing product knowledge and market awareness. Generating business by calling customers that had purchased mobile phone contracts the year before and generating new business by creating flyers and distributing them. I was required to provide an effective sales environment through the use of brand marketing and merchandising, and maintaining high standards in all areas of the store. I was also required to drive profit, through effective cost control, stock management and customer service working to tight deadlines and targets. I was responsible for putting together staff rotas and managing sickness and holidays, interviewing new staff when we had vacancies, conducting weekly one to one meetings, team briefs and taking part in regional conference calls in the morning to predict the days percentage to target and at close of play to talk about the performance that day.
