My research focuses on strategic human resource management and international management. A first stream of my research explores the global human resource strategies of emerging market multinationals, including the headquarter control over the global workforce, approaches of global human capital acquisition, and the choices between standardized versus local HR practices. A second stream of my research sheds light on the relationship between franchising and human resource management. Specifically, I explore the mechanisms through which franchisors control their franchisees and how such control affects the adoption of human resource practices.
